Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambore National Park is a vast wildlife reserve near the town of Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan, northern India. It is a former royal hunting ground and home to tigers, leopards and marsh crocodiles. Its landmarks include the imposing 10th-century Ranthambore Fort, on a hilltop, and the Ganesh Mandir temple. Also in the park, Padam Talao Lake is known for its abundance of water lilies.
“The national park now houses a total of 74 tigers, including 20 males, 30 females and 24 sub-adults or cubs,” added the officer. Chief Wildlife Warden of Rajasthan, Arindam Tomar, said, “We learnt about the development through our surveillance cameras placed in different locations of the park.”
Sundarban National Park
Sundarbans National Park is a large coastal mangrove forest, shared by India and Bangladesh.
The number of tigers in the Sunderbans , as found out by the West Bengal Forest Department recent tiger estimation exercise for 2020-21, puts the number of big cats in the region at 96. The Sundarbans are the world’s largest mangrove delta and the only mangrove tiger habitat in the world.
