The expansion is not really necessary and doesn't make for a better game

Excellente extension sans laquelle le jeu de base devient vite répétitif. Bien qu'en anglais, elle est facilement compréhensible.

We thoroughly enjoy this game. It is a lot of fun. We have it at home now and we also played it at my brother’s house. This is such a good game.

I love the base game and this really adds more to the game without making it too complicated. Suburbia Inc. adds Borders, bonuses and challenges. Plus some other tiles that are really neat. Borders are just long tiles that sometimes need certain conditions to be met or just really add some extra numbers for a reasonable cost. Bonuses and Challenges are tiles you place on top of the B and C tiles and give you a boost to income and reputation if you meet the requirements set on them by the time you reach those stacks. 5 Stars add tiles that give out stars and changes up turn order each round based on how many stars you have. Nightlife adds some really funky tiles and borders but otherwise doesn't really add much else. Overall 9/10 adds to the game without making it longer or more complicated except 5 Stars, it shouldn't be played by rookies.

Even with two players the expansion is worth it. There are a lot of tiles I don't use for 2 player games but you always have optional tiles to add or remove if you want to do that, plus you can try 4 players which is not available with the base game. The added variety and customization is pretty much up to you to add what you want so each game is unique, and I think it adds to long term playability over the base game.
