SPOT THE MATCH FIRST – THE GOAL – Ducks in a Row is a fast observation card game for 2 to 9 players, ages 7 and up. Players take turns flipping one card onto a shared grid. When you spot three cards in a row with the same colour or same duck – horizontal, vertical, or diagonal – shout QUACK before anyone else. First to shout wins all three cards. Most cards at the end wins.
SHARP EYES AND FAST REFLEXES WIN – Every card flipped changes what matches are possible. Watch the grid constantly – matches can appear in any direction. The game gets faster every round as the grid fills up. One of the best observation and reflex card games for families, kids, and adults.
WATCH OUT FOR THE UGLY DUCK – The Ugly Duck card looks exactly like a valid match. It is not. If you shout QUACK on a match that includes an Ugly Duck card, that card stays in your Flock Pile and takes away one point at the end of the game. Be fast – but look carefully.
THREE SPECIAL CARDS CHANGE EVERY GAME – Lucky Duck – matches any colour or any duck type. Duck Out – wins you an entire stack of cards immediately with no QUACK required. Ugly Duck – takes away one point from any player who wins it. These three cards ensure that no two games of Ducks in a Row play out the same way.
THREE WAYS TO PLAY – Learner Mode uses a simple straight grid – ideal for first-time players and younger children. Advanced Mode uses a cross-shaped grid with more matches possible. Expert Mode uses a full grid for the fastest, most challenging gameplay. Each mode is described on the rules sheet included in the box.
